Uzbekistan Embassy Supports Sindh Bank’s Plan to Explore Branch Opening in Uzbekistan

With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad, an online meeting was held between representatives of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan and Sindh Bank of Pakistan to discuss expanding banking cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides explored the possibility of opening a branch of Sindh Bank in Uzbekistan. They also discussed establishing correspondent banking relations with Uzbek banks and facilitating trade transactions in national currencies, including the Uzbek soum and the Pakistani rupee.

Officials highlighted that Uzbekistan’s strong international banking network could help Pakistani companies gain better access to Central Asian markets, potentially increasing trade and investment opportunities.At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue consultations and hold another online session in the near future to further strengthen banking cooperation between the two countries.
