TASHKENT: Uzbekistan and Jordan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties following a high-level meeting in Tashkent between Uzbekistan’s foreign minister and Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi.During the talks, both sides reviewed progress on the implementation of agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders in Samarkand last year and discussed ways to further deepen the comprehensive partnership between Uzbekistan and Jordan.The two ministers also examined the schedule of upcoming high-level visits and joint initiatives, while expressing satisfaction over the growing momentum of political dialogue and bilateral exchanges. They stressed the importance of enhancing coordination between the foreign ministries to further strengthen diplomatic engagement.Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, transport and logistics, tourism, agriculture, education, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Both sides expressed confidence that the launch of direct Amman–Tashkent flights and the work of the Joint Business Council would significantly boost economic cooperation and open new opportunities for businesses and investors.
Regional and international developments also featured prominently in the meeting. The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation within multilateral forums, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement, and other international platforms.Uzbekistan described Jordan as an important and reliable partner in the Middle East, with both countries pledging to continue working closely to further enrich their multifaceted strategic partnership and advance mutually beneficial cooperation across diverse sectors.
