The People’s Committee of Da Nang and Vietnam Airlines have signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement for the 2026–2030 period, reinforcing their commitment to expanding air connectivity while promoting tourism, investment, trade, and the city’s international profile. The new agreement builds on the success of their 2023–2025 partnership, which strengthened collaboration between the aviation and tourism sectors through destination marketing campaigns, familiarisation trips for international media and travel companies, and participation in leading global tourism exhibitions.
Over the past three years, Vietnam Airlines played a key role in showcasing Da Nang through its extensive communications network and by partnering with the city to host major international events, including the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival, the Vietnam–Japan Festival, and the Vietnam–Republic of Korea Festival. The strengthened partnership comes as Da Nang continues to experience impressive tourism growth. During the first six months of the year, the city welcomed nearly 9.77 million overnight visitors, representing a 22% increase compared to the same period last year. International arrivals surpassed 5.16 million, marking a 28% year-on-year rise.Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Hung described aviation as a vital driver of socio-economic development, particularly in tourism, trade, investment, and international integration.
He said the expanded cooperation with Vietnam Airlines would improve connectivity, unlock new markets, enhance the city’s competitiveness, and support its long-term development strategy.Vietnam Airlines Chairman Dang Ngoc Hoa reaffirmed the national carrier’s commitment to working closely with Da Nang by expanding both domestic and international flight networks, improving service quality, promoting the city in strategic markets, and implementing destination marketing initiatives to strengthen Da Nang’s presence on the regional and global tourism map.Under the new agreement, both sides will jointly explore new domestic and international air routes, promote Da Nang through Vietnam Airlines’ communication platforms, and develop tourism products linked to the airline’s expanding route network. Priority will be given to MICE tourism, luxury resorts, golf, cultural experiences, and culinary tourism.
The partnership will also support the promotion of Da Nang’s One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme, while highlighting the city’s investment opportunities, trade potential, and international cooperation initiatives.A key feature of the agreement is the introduction of annual action plans, regular market data sharing, and measurable performance indicators to ensure effective implementation and alignment with Da Nang’s long-term development goals.
