Islamabad, August 7: Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev hosted an informal tea discussion with Pakistani and Indonesian students on August 6, bringing together representatives of CAPS PAK and students from several leading Pakistani universities, including the National Defence University (NDU), Quaid-i-Azam University, National University of Modern Languages (NUML), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), and Lahore College for Women University.
Welcoming the students, Ambassador Khorev appreciated their growing interest in Russia’s history, culture, and foreign policy, describing such interactions as an important step towards strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.The interactive session featured an open exchange of views on a range of issues, including the history and future direction of Russia–Pakistan relations, higher education opportunities for Pakistani students in Russia, and recent developments in the Middle East and South Asia.
Responding to the students’ questions, the Ambassador reaffirmed the traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Pakistan and highlighted the constructive cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). He also praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting dialogue and contributing to peace in the Middle East.The meeting concluded with both sides expressing hope that academic and youth exchanges would continue to expand, further strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.
