ISLAMABAD, Aug 09 (IN): The Royal Thai Embassy in Pakistan, in collaboration with Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), organized a free health screening medical camp in Islamabad to commemorate the birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand.The one-day humanitarian initiative provided hundreds of underserved residents with free medical consultations, health screenings, diagnostic services and medicines under one roof.Patients benefited from consultations in multiple areas, including general medicine, breast health, diet and nutrition, along with various screening and diagnostic facilities.
Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan Rongvudhi Virabutr, accompanied by a delegation from the Thai Embassy, visited the medical camp and interacted with patients, doctors, healthcare professionals and volunteers.He was received by Yasir Khan Niazi, Group Chief Executive Officer of GAK HealthCare International, and Dr. Areej Neyazi, Director of Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, along with senior hospital management.The Ambassador toured the consultation, screening and diagnostic facilities and appreciated the dedication of doctors, healthcare professionals and volunteer students from Islamabad Medical & Dental College, who helped guide patients and ensure the smooth operation of the camp.Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Virabutr thanked Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital and its management for partnering with the Royal Thai Embassy in the humanitarian initiative.
He said that commemorating His Majesty the King’s birthday through community service reflected the values of compassion, goodwill and friendship that continue to strengthen the longstanding relations between Thailand and Pakistan.Yasir Niazi said healthcare had the unique ability to bring nations together through compassion and service.
He highlighted the potential for greater Pakistan-Thailand cooperation in healthcare, medical education, public health, clinical training, research and knowledge exchange.He expressed gratitude to the Royal Thai Embassy for marking the special national occasion through an initiative that directly benefited hundreds of deserving patients while further strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
