Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Mr. Usman Shaukat has welcomed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, terming it an important development for regional peace, stability and collective security.He said the agreement reflects the strong brotherly relations among the three countries and provides a framework for enhanced cooperation against emerging security challenges.
He appreciated the clarification that the accord is purely defensive in nature, not directed against any country, and is consistent with the principles of collective self-defence and peaceful resolution of conflicts.Mr. Usman Shaukat said lasting peace and security are essential for sustainable economic growth, investment, trade and regional connectivity. “A stable and secure region creates opportunities for businesses, strengthens investor confidence and opens new avenues for economic cooperation,” he stated.
He emphasized that Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye possess immense potential to expand bilateral and trilateral trade, investment, technology cooperation, tourism and business-to-business linkages.The RCCI President expressed hope that the Makkah Agreement would contribute to a more secure, peaceful and prosperous region and help build stronger economic partnerships among brotherly nations.
