MARDAN: A special recreational and study tour to Murree and Nathia Gali was organized by Dua Welfare SNAP Organization and Helping Hand, in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority and the Directorate General of Sports. A large number of men and women with disabilities from Peshawar, Nowshera and Mardan participated enthusiastically in the tour.During the visit, the participants were taken to various beautiful and scenic tourist destinations in Murree and Nathia Gali. The primary objective of the tour was to provide persons with disabilities with opportunities for recreation, mental relaxation and healthy activities away from the routine challenges and pressures of daily life, enabling them to enjoy the beauty of nature like other members of society.The participants thoroughly enjoyed the breathtaking landscapes, lush green mountains, pleasant weather and natural beauty of Murree and Nathia Gali.
They appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude to the organizers and supporting institutions. They said that such activities play an important role in promoting happiness, self-confidence, social inclusion and a sense of belonging among persons with disabilities.Speaking on the occasion, Team Leader Ahmed Sajjad expressed his special gratitude to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority and the Directorate General of Sports for their cooperation and support. He said that persons with disabilities are an important part of society, and providing them with equal opportunities to participate in recreational, cultural, sports and other positive activities is a collective responsibility.He said that the tour to Murree and Nathia Gali was a positive and welcome initiative that not only provided the participants with an opportunity to enjoy recreational activities but also strengthened their self-confidence and encouraged them to play an active role in society.Ahmed Sajjad expressed hope that more recreational, cultural and welfare programs of a similar nature would be organized in the future with the cooperation of government and non-governmental organizations, so that persons with disabilities can feel respected, active and equal members of society.
He further emphasized that creating opportunities for persons with disabilities is not merely a welfare measure but an essential requirement of an inclusive and progressive society. He urged all relevant institutions to further strengthen their role and take effective steps to ensure greater participation and inclusion of persons with disabilities in social activities.
