ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (IN): A training camp for Pakistan’s national boxing team has commenced at the Pakistan Sports Complex as part of preparations for the 20th Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Japan from September 19 to October 4.The camp is being organized by the Pakistan Boxing Federation with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board.Five boxers—two men and three women—are participating in the camp.
The men’s team comprises Samama Rehman and Irfan Khan, while Fatima Zahra, Maria Rind and Malaika Zahid will represent the women’s side.The boxers are undergoing advanced training under coaches Tariq Siddiqui, Muhammad Liaquat Mughal and Nisar Khan.Pakistan Boxing Federation President Col. (R) Nasir Ijaz Tung said the athletes are being provided intensive training to prepare them for the continental event.
