In Mauritius, Pakistan’s National Day was marked with a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony at the High Commission, bringing together members of the Pakistani community and friends of Pakistan.High Commissioner Syed Zahid Raza hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem, symbolizing pride and unity. Deputy High Commissioner Khadijah Khalid Khan conducted the proceedings as Master of Ceremony.
The event saw participation from the local diaspora, students, and religious scholars, reflecting a vibrant representation of Pakistani culture in Mauritius. A Quranic recitation was presented by Qari Mubees Ahad, while official messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out by Madiha Saif and Khezran Fatima.
Addressing the gathering, the High Commissioner highlighted the strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Mauritius and appreciated the continued support of the community. The ceremony concluded with media interactions, including coverage by Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, showcasing the spirit of patriotism on the occasion.
