Indonesia, South Korea Sign 10 Key MoUs to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Jakarta (IN) Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung witnessed the announcement and exchange of 10 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation during a ceremony held at the Blue House on Wednesday.According to Indonesia’s Cabinet Secretariat, the agreements reflect a shared commitment by both nations to deepen their strategic partnership with a forward-looking vision. The MoUs cover several key sectors, including the economy, energy, digital development, healthcare, and industrial growth.Key areas of cooperation include the establishment of a special comprehensive strategic dialogue, advancement of “Economy 2.0,” partnerships in critical minerals, and stronger collaboration in digital innovation.

Both countries also agreed to jointly use artificial intelligence to support healthcare systems and human development.Additional agreements focus on clean energy, carbon capture and storage, offshore power generation, industrial development, and intellectual property protection, highlighting a strong focus on sustainability and technological progress.One of the MoUs also aims to strengthen financial cooperation between Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara and Korea Eximbank, indicating closer economic ties.

The Indonesian delegation included senior officials such as Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid.The Cabinet Secretariat emphasized that both countries view their partnership as essential for building a resilient and inclusive future. Indonesia sees this cooperation as a key step toward accelerating its transition to a technology-driven and clean energy-based economy.In addition to the MoU exchange, President Prabowo and President Lee held a one-on-one meeting followed by a bilateral summit with ministers and senior officials, where they discussed key sectors including the economy, energy, science, technology, and environmental cooperation.
