In Islamabad, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, along with his delegation, visited the residence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, where a significant meeting took place.During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on the overall regional situation, law and order, and Pakistan-China bilateral relations.
They also exchanged views on the conflict involving the United States and Israel with Iran, describing attacks on Iran as a violation of international law and its national sovereignty.The leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in the region and agreed that peaceful means should be adopted to resolve conflicts. They warned that failure to achieve an immediate ceasefire could have serious economic repercussions not only for the Middle East but also for Europe and the rest of the world.Matters related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and regional security were also discussed. Both sides noted that alignment between JUI and China on peace and stability could benefit the region.
The Chinese Ambassador stated that Pakistan-China friendship has always thrived under all circumstances and that joint efforts can help transform the region’s future.Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed JUI’s desire to further strengthen and stabilize Pakistan-China relations, adding that his party has played a constructive role in this regard in the past and will continue to do so in the future. He also stressed the need for China to promote friendly relations with all neighboring countries.At the end of the meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman hosted a luncheon in honor of the Chinese Ambassador.
