Kazakhstan Approves Nationwide Plan to Promote Constitution Awareness

ASTANA: Olzhas Bektenov has signed a comprehensive decree approving a nationwide plan aimed at promoting awareness and effective implementation of the country’s Constitution.The plan outlines 36 measures divided into three key areas: organizational initiatives, information and outreach campaigns, and legal reforms to strengthen enforcement of constitutional provisions.Under the organizational component, authorities will ensure the publication and wide distribution of the Constitution, including accessible formats for persons with disabilities.

The document will also be made available on digital platforms and translated into English. Additional efforts include scientific and expert support, thematic products, exhibitions, and educational projects.A strong emphasis has been placed on education, with the introduction of training seminars, academic events, and updates to school and university curricula. New courses titled “Fundamentals of the Constitution” and “Law and Order” will be developed, alongside teaching materials and special editions for children.The information campaign will feature a unified calendar of events supported by a comprehensive media strategy, including television and radio programs, newspaper articles, social media videos, documentaries, and interactive tools designed to explain constitutional principles.

On the legal front, the plan предусматривает reviewing existing laws, strategies, and concepts, along with introducing new legislative measures to ensure proper implementation of the Constitution.The initiative aims to foster broad public understanding of the Constitution and ensure its effective application across all sectors.As part of the reforms, Constitution Day will now be observed annually on March 15 as a national holiday.
