Ethiopian Ambassador Meets Maritime Minister to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Ethiopia and Pakistan have taken a step forward in strengthening their ties by exploring opportunities for cooperation in the maritime sector, aimed at improving regional connectivity and increasing bilateral trade.The discussion took place during a meeting in Islamabad between Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Oumer Hussien Oba, and Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar. Both sides showed keen interest in building closer collaboration and agreed on practical steps such as exchanging delegations, sharing technical expertise, and developing institutional links in the maritime field.

During the meeting, the Ambassador highlighted Ethiopia’s ongoing economic reforms and its strategic position as a key link to regional and global markets. He emphasized that Ethiopia places great importance on its relationship with Pakistan and sees maritime cooperation as a vital area for expanding trade and investment.In response, the Federal Minister assured full support from Pakistan in strengthening maritime cooperation. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to deepening ties with African countries, particularly Ethiopia, and expressed optimism about future collaboration between the two nations.
