The “Made in Gujranwala Expo 2026,” one of the largest exhibitions highlighting the industrial heritage of Gujranwala, has officially opened at the Expo Centre Karachi. The event was inaugurated by Sindh’s Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, who assured full support from the provincial government on behalf of the Chief Minister.The opening ceremony featured a vibrant cultural display as traditional wrestlers from Gujranwala attended in their customary attire, adding a unique cultural touch to the event. In line with tradition, they presented turbans to Minister Nasir Hussain Shah and Gujranwala Chamber President Ali Humayun Butt.Addressing the ceremony, Nasir Hussain Shah praised the industrial excellence of Gujranwala, noting that the city’s diverse industrial clusters reflect remarkable capability and resilience.
He commended President Ali Humayun Butt and his team for successfully organizing the expo despite challenging circumstances, calling their efforts “truly commendable.”The first day of the exhibition saw participation from prominent figures including Senator Aamir Chishti, the UAE Consul General, a delegation from the Karachi Chamber of Commerce, and the Inspector General of Prisons Sindh. Several members of the Sindh Assembly and National Assembly, including Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, were also in attendance.
International representation included trade officials from Vietnam, Russia, and Bangladesh, along with other distinguished guests and senior media personalities. Foreign delegates highly appreciated the quality of Gujranwala’s products and the integration of modern technology in manufacturing.Participants widely acknowledged the vision of Ali Humayun Butt, stating that presenting “Made in Gujranwala” at such a scale would serve as a significant milestone in boosting Pakistan’s exports.The three-day exhibition will continue until Sunday, with more local and international delegations expected to visit.
