Iran has demanded compensation from five Arab countries — Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan — accusing them of facilitating recent US-Israeli strikes on its territory. In a letter sent Monday to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UN Security Council President Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani alleged that the countries had “breached their international obligations” by enabling the attacks. He stated that these nations should be held accountable and compensate Iran for losses incurred during the conflict.
Regional tensions escalated following joint US and Israeli strikes on February 28, which reportedly resulted in thousands of casualties. In response, Tehran carried out retaliatory strikes targeting Israel, Iraq, Jordan, and several Gulf states hosting US military facilities.
A two-week ceasefire was announced last week after the intensifying hostilities.Meanwhile, Iranian and US delegations held 21 hours of talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, concluding early Sunday without reaching any agreement.
