SHANGLA:A one day workshop organized by the non-governmental organization Nida Pakistan was held at the Jirga Hall in Alpurai, Shangla. The event was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Shangla, officials from various district departments, heads of different institutions, personnel, and a large number of media representatives.Addressing the workshop, Program Director of Nida Pakistan, Muhammad Arif, stated that since 2008, the organization has successfully completed more than 40 projects during natural disasters and various emergencies. Referring to the recent floods, he said that Nida Pakistan, in collaboration with CBM, provided immediate relief to flood-affected communities. He further added that several damaged water supply schemes were restored, and reconstruction and rehabilitation work on bridges was also carried out successfully.He highlighted that Nida Pakistan is also taking significant steps to empower persons with disabilities by working on their registration, protection, and identification to make them self-reliant.
Muhammad Arif further stated that the organization is actively working with the Agriculture and Livestock Departments in various village councils of Shangla, implementing development initiatives. New projects are also being launched to improve agriculture and livestock sectors, aiming to uplift the economic condition of the local population.In his concluding remarks, Deputy Commissioner Shangla, Muhammad Abdullah Shah, said that the recent floods caused extensive damage across the district. However, the district administration is committed to expediting the rehabilitation process by utilizing government resources alongside the support of private and non-governmental organizations, so that the difficulties faced by the public can be minimized at the earliest.Among others present at the workshop were CBM representative Sabir Dad, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Syed Hamad Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance) Fida Hussain, District Director Agriculture Dr. Shah Alam Khan, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Engineer Malik Sher Dil Khan, District Soil Conservation Officer Umar Rehman, District Population Officer Syed Rehman, Social Welfare Officer Ihsan Ahmad, Deputy District Education Officer, representatives of Nida Pakistan, and other district officials and staff.During the interactive session, participants from various departments including Agriculture, Social Welfare, Livestock, and Education raised questions related to the project. Officials from respective departments provided detailed responses and assured that they are making every possible effort within available resources to provide maximum relief and facilities to the people of Shangla.The participants appreciated the ongoing welfare and development projects of Nida Pakistan in the district and reaffirmed their commitment to continue joint efforts at the district level for the betterment and well-being of the public.
