Pakistan, Uzbekistan Reaffirm Historic Ties at IPU Assembly Meeting

Istanbul: On the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Istanbul, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq held a meeting with Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, reaffirming the longstanding and historic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, both leaders underscored the deep-rooted cultural, linguistic, and civilizational connections shared by Pakistan and Uzbekistan, highlighting centuries-old ties that continue to shape bilateral cooperation.Chairperson Narbaeva apprised the Speaker of Uzbekistan’s initiatives to establish Islamic centres in the historic cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, aimed at preserving and promoting Islamic heritage.

She also extended an invitation to Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to visit Uzbekistan.The Speaker welcomed the invitation and appreciated Uzbekistan’s efforts to promote cultural and religious heritage. He reciprocated the gesture by inviting the Uzbek leadership to Pakistan, reaffirming the country’s commitment to enhancing parliamentary exchanges and strengthening diplomatic relations between the two nations.
