Pakistan, Uzbekistan Agree to Boost Trade and Economic Cooperation

Karachi (IN) A high-level delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Governor of Navoiy Region H.E. Normat Tursunov and Ambassador H.E. Alisher Tukhtaev, visited the headquarters of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan in Karachi to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral trade ties with Pakistan.The delegation was received by Secretary TDAP Sheryar Taj, along with senior officials and prominent Pakistani businessmen representing key sectors including livestock and dairy, fisheries, pharmaceuticals, rice, textiles, leather, mining, and construction materials.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral trade and discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in priority sectors. The TDAP Secretary reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to facilitating enhanced commercial engagement and emphasized the importance of easing company registration procedures in Uzbekistan to improve market access for Pakistani businesses.

The Uzbek delegation expressed keen interest in strengthening economic ties and highlighted the vast untapped potential for collaboration between the two countries. Both sides agreed to take practical steps to boost trade volumes, encourage joint ventures, and promote business-to-business linkages.The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both Pakistan and Uzbekistan reaffirming their commitment to building a robust, sustainable, and mutually beneficial economic partnership.
