Pakistan, Uzbekistan Agree to Boost Media and Cultural Cooperation Through Joint Film and Digital Projects

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening cultural and media relations with Uzbekistan, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation in film production, digital media, and cultural exchanges.He expressed these views during a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, in Islamabad, where both sides held detailed discussions on enhancing collaboration in media, filmmaking, and cultural initiatives.

The minister said Pakistan highly values its longstanding relations with Uzbekistan and remains committed to deepening bilateral cooperation across various sectors. He noted that several proposals are under consideration for the joint production of short films, documentaries, and drama series aimed at highlighting the shared history and cultural heritage of the two nations.Attaullah Tarar stressed that the participation of experienced production houses would be vital for the successful implementation of such projects.

He also highlighted the potential for launching large-scale film ventures through joint funding arrangements.The minister underscored the need to strengthen ties between the media institutions of both countries, adding that exchange visits of journalists would play a key role in promoting mutual understanding and professional collaboration.

During the meeting, both sides also agreed to enhance cooperation between their social media teams, develop joint digital content, and adopt coordinated online promotional strategies to showcase the rich cultural and historical connections between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace, particularly its role in the Islamabad Peace Talks and broader initiatives aimed at fostering stability and cooperation in the region.
