Dar, Indonesian FM Reaffirm Strong Ties, Call for Lasting Peace in Palestine

New York, February 19, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono on the sidelines of a high-level briefing of the United Nations Security Council on Palestine in New York.During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction over the depth and strength of the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Indonesia. They reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing cooperation across various areas of mutual interest.

The two ministers also exchanged views on key regional and international developments, with particular focus on the situation in Gaza and the West Bank. Both sides agreed to work closely in pursuit of a just, lasting and comprehensive peace in Palestine, in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.Recalling the successful visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to Pakistan in December 2025, Senator Dar highlighted its special significance, noting that the visit injected fresh momentum into bilateral cooperation and reflected the steady progress in Pakistan-Indonesia relations over the decades.
