Pakistan, Russia Agree to Boost Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security Collaboration

MOSCOW (IN): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, held a meeting with Sergey Dankvert, Head of Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, to explore avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.During the meeting, Ambassador Tirmizi praised Russia’s notable achievements in agriculture, underscoring that food security remains a cornerstone of national sovereignty and sustainable development.

He expressed Pakistan’s strong interest in promoting knowledge exchange initiatives to enable Pakistani experts to benefit from Russia’s advanced practices in food safety, veterinary services, and phytosanitary surveillance.The ambassador also stressed the need to deepen institutional linkages between relevant ministries and technical departments of both countries to ensure effective coordination and long-term collaboration.Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding agricultural trade, aiming to build a more dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership between Pakistan and Russia.
