Belarus Ambassador Andrei Metelitsa Meets MNA Natasha Daultana to Strengthen Parliamentary Ties

Islamabad (IN) Ambassador of Belarus to Pakistan, Andrei N. Metelitsa, met with Member of the National Assembly and Convener of the Pakistan–Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group, Natasha Daultana, at the Belarusian Embassy in Islamabad to discuss ways to deepen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Daultana highlighted the role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in promoting parliamentary diplomacy and strengthening collaboration between the Parliament of Pakistan and legislatures of friendly nations. She stressed the importance of expanding engagement between lawmakers of Pakistan and Belarus to further reinforce bilateral relations.

She also invited Ambassador Metelitsa to visit the National Assembly of Pakistan and interact with members of the Pakistan–Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group. According to her, such interaction could pave the way for a virtual meeting between the Pakistan–Belarus PFG and its counterpart in the Belarusian parliament.Ambassador Metelitsa welcomed the proposal and noted the warm and friendly relations between Pakistan and Belarus.

He recalled several recent high-level exchanges between the two countries, including the visit of the Belarusian prime minister to Pakistan for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in 2024, the visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to Pakistan in November 2024, and the visit of the Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, to Belarus in August 2024 along with a parliamentary delegation.Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations through closer parliamentary cooperation and sustained engagement between the two countries.
