In a significant step toward expanding international partnerships, Aleksandr Lukashenko led a historic visit to North Korea, culminating in the signing of a comprehensive friendship and cooperation treaty between the two nations.According to reports by Rodong Sinmun, President Lukashenko held high-level talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing collaboration across key sectors, including diplomacy, public relations, agriculture, education, and healthcare.This marked President Lukashenko’s first official visit to North Korea, highlighting Belarus’s growing engagement on the global stage and its commitment to building diverse international alliances. Chairman Kim warmly welcomed the Belarusian delegation and expressed strong support for Belarus’s efforts to maintain sociopolitical stability, achieve economic growth, and safeguard its sovereignty.Following the talks, both leaders presided over the signing ceremony of the “Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation,” symbolizing a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
