Chairman Senate Condoles Demise of Former Algerian President Liamine Zeroual

Islamabad: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, visited the Embassy of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Islamabad to offer condolences on the passing of former President Liamine Zeroual.Upon arrival, he was received by Algeria’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Brahim Romani. The Chairman Senate expressed deep sorrow and extended sympathies on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan, as well as the Senate, to the government and people of Algeria and the bereaved family.In his remarks, Gilani paid tribute to the late leader, describing Zeroual as a statesman of great dignity, wisdom, and resolve.

He noted that Pakistan deeply values its longstanding brotherly relations with Algeria, adding that Zeroual played a significant role in strengthening bilateral ties rooted in shared ideals, mutual respect, and common aspirations.The Chairman Senate also recorded his message of condolence in the condolence book placed at the embassy.Ambassador to ISC and Advisor to the Chairman Senate, Misbah Khar, was also present on the occasion and expressed her condolences.
