PM Shehbaz Meets US Vice President JD Vance as Islamabad Talks Begin

ISLAMABAD, Apr 11: As the Islamabad Talks formally commenced on Saturday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a key meeting with United States Vice President JD Vance.The US delegation included Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, while the prime minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, according to a statement issued by the PM Office Media Wing.

During the meeting, the prime minister appreciated the constructive engagement shown by both the United States and Iran delegations and expressed optimism that the ongoing talks would pave the way for lasting peace in the region.He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue between both sides and emphasized the country’s continued support for efforts aimed at achieving sustainable regional stability.
