Preliminary Delimitation of Urban and Rural Councils Issued in Mardan; Public Asked to Submit Objections

Mardan: The preliminary delimitations of Urban and Rural Councils, as well as the Cantonment Board in District Mardan, have been officially published. In this regard, District Election Commissioner and Convener for Delimitation in Mardan, Muhammad Bilal, stated that the delimitations have been prepared on the basis of data from the Digital Census 2023 to ensure proportional representation according to population in the local government system.According to the announcement, the general public can visit the office of the District Election Commissioner Mardan during official working hours to examine these preliminary delimitations.

Citizens have been given the opportunity to review the delimitations in detail and submit any objections or suggestions in writing if they deem necessary.Officials further stated that if any individual has an objection to the preliminary delimitations, they may submit a written objection to the Delimitation Authority, i.e., the office of the Regional Election Commissioner Mardan Division, by March 25, 2026. However, it is mandatory that the person submitting the objection must be a registered voter of the relevant Village Council or Neighborhood Council.According to the District Election Commissioner, after receiving objections, the relevant authority will review them and, following the necessary procedures, finalize the delimitations so that the upcoming local government elections can be conducted on transparent and fair grounds.
