A delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), led by President Usman Shaukat along with Group Leader Sohail Altaf, called on the Director General of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Major General Asad ur Rehman Cheema , in Islamabad.During the meeting, the DG SIFC informed that the government, in consultation with key stakeholders, is incorporating important recommendations into the upcoming budget, adding that there will be positive developments for the business community.President RCCI, Usman Shaukat, briefed the DG SIFC on the Chamber’s recent trade delegation visit to the United States.
He highlighted RCCI’s efforts to enhance bilateral trade by facilitating linkages between middle-market companies and SMEs of Pakistan and the United States.The DG SIFC appreciated RCCI’s proactive role in promoting trade diplomacy and strengthening business-to-business engagement, and assured that the Chamber’s proposals would be considered in the upcoming trade policy.
Both sides also discussed the overall business environment, including the impact of recent global developments on Pakistan’s economy, particularly rising energy prices and their implications for industry and trade.
