Romania Presents Historic Choral Arrangement of Pakistan’s National Anthem to Senate Chairman Gilani

In a meaningful gesture of cultural diplomacy and friendship, a special milestone was marked between Romania and Pakistan. The official album and written score of the first-ever professional choral arrangement of Pakistan’s national anthem, Qaumi Tarana, were formally presented to Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan. This remarkable artistic project was brought to life by the National Chamber Choir Madrigal – Marin Constantin, with the support of the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad.

The arrangement transforms the original orchestral composition into an elegant polyphonic choral work designed for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass voices. While preserving the anthem’s dignity and spirit, it introduces a new musical dimension that beautifully blends Eastern melodic richness with Western harmonic depth.More than a musical accomplishment, the album and score symbolize deep respect for Pakistan’s national identity and reflect a shared commitment to cultural dialogue. Through this initiative, Romania contributes to celebrating Pakistan’s heritage in a universal artistic language.During the occasion, a constructive discussion was also held with Chairman Gilani on enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.

Key areas of focus included strengthening parliamentary cooperation, expanding economic ties, and exchanging views on regional developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and stability. The warm welcome and appreciation extended by Chairman Gilani further highlighted the strong and growing relationship between Romania and Pakistan, reaffirming the powerful role of culture in bringing nations closer together.
