
The Government of Romania has officially announced a new round of fully funded study scholarships for citizens of non-European Union countries through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offering a valuable opportunity for international students to pursue higher education in Europe.According to the official details, only academically strong candidates will be considered eligible. Applicants must have obtained a minimum average grade of 7 in the Romanian grading system, or the equivalent of a “Good” grade, in their most recently completed level of studies.
Students may select programs in almost all academic fields, with the exception of Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy. For Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, only programs taught in the Romanian language are available, reflecting Romania’s commitment to promoting its language and culture. At the doctoral level, candidates may choose programs taught in English or other foreign languages, depending on the doctoral school’s offerings.For applicants who do not speak Romanian, a one-year preparatory Romanian language course will be provided before enrollment in their chosen degree program.Required documents include academic diplomas, transcripts of records, a birth certificate, passport, and a CV, as outlined in the official application guidelines. Applications must be submitted exclusively through the online “Study in Romania” platform.The application window will remain open from 16 February 2026 to 31 March 2026, with results expected to be announced around 15 July 2026.
