Uzbekistan attracts 12 million tourists in 2025 | Tourism revenue surpasses $4.8 billion | Ranked among safest travel destinations globally
TASHKENT: Uzbekistan has solidified its position as a leading global tourism destination, welcoming nearly 12 million foreign visitors in 2025, marking a 16 percent increase compared to the previous year.According to official figures, tourism revenues exceeded $4.8 billion, reflecting growing international interest in the Central Asian nation known for its rich cultural heritage and improved travel infrastructure.
The country continues to gain recognition for its safety and stability. International assessments rank Uzbekistan among low-risk destinations, while global databases place it 25th worldwide in safety. It has also been ranked as the number one destination for solo female travelers, with high public confidence reported in law enforcement institutions.
Uzbekistan has significantly simplified entry procedures to attract more visitors. Citizens of 94 countries can now enter visa-free, while travelers from 52 countries can apply through an e-visa system. Additionally, a five-day visa-free transit policy is available for visitors from 45 countries.Tourists are drawn to Uzbekistan’s historic Silk Road legacy, with iconic cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva offering a blend of ancient architecture and cultural richness.
Modern infrastructure, improved hospitality services, and a welcoming environment further enhance the visitor experience.Officials have extended a special invitation to travelers from Pakistan and Sri Lanka, encouraging them to explore Uzbekistan’s unique combination of history and modernity.
