Mardan: International Civil Defense Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in District Mardan. On this occasion, a dignified seminar and an awareness walk were organized at the District Secretariat Mardan. Civil Defense officials, instructors, post wardens, and a large number of male and female volunteers participated in the event.Additional Assistant Commissioner Hania Shah attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Civil Defense Officer (CDO) Fazal Haq, Additional Chief Warden Aurangzeb, Additional Chief Warden Nusrat Ara, and other officials were also present.Addressing the seminar, speakers stated that World Civil Defense Day is a day to renew commitment.
The purpose of observing this day is to raise awareness in society about protection from natural and man-made disasters and to provide practical training to the public. They emphasized that in any emergency situation, timely response and first aid can save precious lives and minimize losses.
In her speech, Additional Assistant Commissioner Hania Shah said that Civil Defense training has become a vital need of the time. In many cases of accidents at homes, الأسواق, or public places, it is not always possible for ambulance or rescue services to arrive immediately. In such situations, if ordinary citizens are trained, they can provide first aid and help prevent major losses.Speakers also highlighted various departments of Civil Defense, precautionary measures during emergencies, and the importance of volunteer services. On this occasion, promoted Civil Defense officers were awarded honors and badges.Before the seminar, Civil Defense personnel also participated in a rally held in support of the Pakistan Army. The rally started from the District Secretariat and concluded at Bacha Khan Chowk. Participants expressed their commitment to national unity and security and reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen the role of Civil Defense.
