Rwanda Envoy Highlights Global Need for Women’s Empowerment at OIC Forum in Islamabad

Islamabad: H.E. Harerimana Fatou, High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to Pakistan, attended the 2nd OICOA Sub-Committee Meeting on Strengthening Women’s Rights in the OIC as the Guest of Honor.

The meeting was hosted by the Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (FOSPAH).In her address, the High Commissioner lauded the efforts of FOSPAH and the Government of Pakistan for their commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and advancing gender equality across OIC member states.

She underscored Rwanda’s remarkable progress in empowering women and fostering inclusive leadership, noting that the country stands as a global model with one of the highest representations of women in parliament.H.E. Harerimana Fatou emphasized that women’s empowerment must not remain limited to OIC countries, but should evolve into a global commitment to ensure equal rights, opportunities, and participation for women worldwide.
