NEW YORK, Sep 23 (IN): Pakistan and Austria on Wednesday reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation, with particular focus on trade, investment, economic relations, education and people-to-people contacts.The commitment was expressed during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Austrian Minister for European and International Affairs Beate Meinl-Reisinger on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The two sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Austria relations and exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East.DPM/FM Ishaq Dar underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with the UN Charter and international law.The Austrian Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability and emphasized the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement to address regional and global challenges.
Ishaq Dar also stressed the importance of the full implementation of the Islamabad MoU by all parties.Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement on matters of mutual interest.
