A delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI), led by newly elected President Nosherwan Khalil Khan, called on Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Capt. (Retd.) Nadeem Nasir, to discuss matters of mutual interest, infrastructure development, and measures to facilitate the business community.The RCCI delegation appreciated the Deputy Commissioner’s decision to establish a facilitation desk and ensure the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) within three days. The delegation also welcomed his assurance that no business premises would be sealed without prior approval from the Deputy Commissioner, describing these measures as positive steps towards transparent administration and a business-friendly environment.
The meeting covered key issues faced by the business community, including unnecessary harassment in the name of registration and regulatory compliance, the sealing of business premises, and infrastructure challenges at the Rawat Industrial Estate. The participants also discussed improving road connectivity, upgrading essential civic facilities—including sewerage, gas, water supply, and public transport—and establishing commercial and industrial zones along the Rawalpindi Ring Road.Emphasizing the importance of infrastructure development at the Rawat Industrial Estate, the RCCI delegation highlighted that improved access roads and essential facilities would help boost industrial activity, attract investment, generate employment, and support sustainable economic growth.To strengthen coordination between the chamber and the district administration and ensure the timely resolution of business-related concerns, the formation of a joint committee comprising representatives of RCCI and the Deputy Commissioner’s Office was also discussed.
The delegation comprised Senior Vice President Waseem Aslam, Vice President Ikram Abbasi, and former RCCI President Raja Amir Iqbal. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Tayyab Sami Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Social Services Fazail Mudassir, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Enforcement Abdul Rehman Khan were also present at the meeting.
President Nosherwan Khalil Khan briefed the Deputy Commissioner on RCCI’s major initiatives, ongoing efforts to support the business community, and future plans. He also invited the Deputy Commissioner to visit RCCI Chamber House. The invitation was accepted, and an interactive session with the business community is expected to be held soon.
