ISLAMABAD, October 10, 2026: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has clarified the funding mechanism for national sports federations following media reports regarding the national team’s participation in the World Tenpin Bowling Championship.The Board stated that national sports federations are empowered to generate their own funds to meet operational expenses. Under Clause 11 of the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation’s (PTBF) Constitution, the federation is authorised to raise funds for its activities.
The PSB further explained that financial grants are subject to the availability of funds and cannot be claimed as a matter of right under Regulation 12(10) of the Sports Funding and Utilization Regulations, 2025.According to the Board, the PTBF received a grant of Rs1 million in July 2026. It also clarified that financial assistance for participation in international sporting events is generally reimbursed after the event, subject to the availability of funds, rather than being released in advance.
