ISLAMABAD, May 15: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has initiated immediate administrative reforms aimed at improving ease of doing sports governance and facilitating athletes and national sports federations across the country.On the very first day after assuming the additional charge of Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board, the Secretary of the Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Division Mohyuddin AhmadWani directed the simplification and reduction in the size of the affiliation proforma for National Sports Federations.
According to officials, the revised format has been made more concise, practical and user-friendly while maintaining transparency and governance compliance requirements.In another significant facilitative measure, the No Objection Certificate (NOC) proforma and related documentation requirements for athletes and sports federations travelling abroad for international competitions, training camps and sporting events have also been reviewed and streamlined.
The move is expected to reduce unnecessary delays, minimize paperwork and improve coordination between federations and the PSB.Speaking about the reforms, the Secretary IPC/DG PSB said the objective of these measures was to promote athlete-centered governance, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, improve efficiency and encourage greater participation of Pakistani athletes and federations in international sporting activities.He said the Pakistan Sports Board would continue pursuing institutional reforms focused on transparency, better service delivery, digitization and ease of access for all stakeholders associated with the sports sector.
