Sri Lankan High Commissioner Attends Cardiac Center Seminar in Gujranwala

A seminar organized by the Sarwar Shahida Memorial Cardiac Center was held at the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry, where Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Pakistan, Rear Admiral (R) Fred Seneviratne, highlighted the strong and longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.Addressing the seminar, the High Commissioner said that Sri Lanka has regained political and economic stability after the recent crisis and its economy is recovering rapidly.

He invited the Gujranwala business community to visit Colombo and informed participants that a major Expo will be organized there in January 2027.The High Commissioner visited the Chamber along with the Sarwar Shahida Trust delegation, former Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan, and Trust President Dr. Shoaib Sarwar Hashmi. Upon arrival, the guests were warmly received by Chamber President Ali Humayun Butt, Senior Vice President , Vice President , and members of the executive committee.During the seminar, discussions were held on enhancing bilateral trade relations and the under-construction cardiac center project being developed by the Sarwar Shahida Trust.

Dr. Shoaib Sarwar Hashmi emphasized the urgent need for a dedicated cardiac hospital in Gujranwala and appealed for the support of the business community.Speaking on the occasion, Chamber President Ali Humayun Butt said that the Gujranwala business community has always played a leading role not only in trade and industry but also in welfare and humanitarian initiatives. He assured full support from the Chamber and local businessmen for the successful completion of the Sarwar Shahida Memorial Cardiac Center project, describing it as a noble mission for humanity.
