ASHGABAT — Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, held talks with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers during her working visit to Ashgabat, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.During the meeting, both sides highlighted the positive momentum in Turkmen-American relations and noted the active development of cooperation across political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields. They emphasized that regular dialogue at the highest and senior levels continues to play a vital role in strengthening bilateral ties.
Education, science, culture, and the digital transformation of key sectors of the economy were among the main topics discussed. The parties noted that Turkmenistan currently participates in more than 15 U.S. educational programs and has established sustainable partnerships between specialized universities in both countries.The officials also explored opportunities for expanding joint cultural and humanitarian initiatives.
Particular attention was given to the successful implementation of the Ambassadors’ Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP), which has supported cultural heritage projects in Turkmenistan for the past 25 years.In addition, the discussions covered cooperation in media, public relations, and public diplomacy, including professional exchanges, experience-sharing, and the development of joint projects.At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation and advancing engagement within the framework of the C5+1 platform.
