Islamabad, June 12, 2026 — Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Home and former Member of the National Assembly, Zamurrad Khan (Hilal-e-Imtiaz), has strongly condemned child labour, calling it a grave violation of children’s fundamental rights.
In his statement on World Day Against Child Labour, Khan emphasized that forcing underage children into labour deprives them of their basic rights to education, health, and recreation. He noted that engaging children in hard work at an early age not only hampers their physical and mental development but also poses a serious obstacle to building a healthy and progressive society.“By denying children access to education and healthcare, we cannot create a balanced and prosperous society,” he said.
He stressed the urgent need for both collective and individual efforts to eliminate child labour from the country.Khan also acknowledged the vital role of media in raising awareness about education and children’s rights. He expressed hope that the government, media, and civil society would once again come together to play an effective role in eradicating child labour.
Highlighting the importance of equal opportunities, he stated, “A bright future is our shared dream, and its realization lies in ensuring equal access to education and healthcare for every child.”The statement serves as a renewed call for nationwide action to safeguard the rights and future of children across Pakistan.
