ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari held a virtual meeting with Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on areas of mutual interest and explored avenues to enhance collaboration in power generation, transmission and other energy-related initiatives.Special focus was placed on the progress of the CASA-1000 electricity transmission project.
The two ministers reviewed developments related to the flagship regional initiative and underscored the importance of accelerating work to boost cross-border electricity trade.
They noted that enhanced energy connectivity would contribute to long-term energy security and foster regional economic integration.The ministers also stressed the need for regular dialogue and technical-level engagements to ensure effective follow-up on agreed decisions and to address implementation challenges in a timely manner.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Pakistan and Tajikistan to deepen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in the energy sector for mutual benefit.
