Vietnam Holds Nationwide Conference to Advance State Economy and Cultural Development

Party chief Tô Lâm leads high-level gathering in Hà Nội to implement key Politburo resolutions

HÀ NỘI (IN) Vietnam’s Party Central Committee Secretariat on Wednesday convened a nationwide conference in the capital to roll out two major Politburo resolutions aimed at strengthening the state-owned economic sector and promoting national cultural development.

The conference took place at the National Assembly’s Diên Hồng Hall and was linked to more than 27,000 locations across the country, drawing participation from over two million officials, party members and stakeholders. The event was broadcast live on VTV1, aired on VOV1 and VOV Traffic, and streamed on multiple digital platforms to ensure wide public access.Party General Secretary Tô Lâm delivered the keynote address. He was joined by State President Lương Cường, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn, Permanent member of the Secretariat Trần Cẩm Tú, and several former senior leaders.Attendees included members of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Party Central Committee, along with leaders of ministries, mass organisations, the armed forces, and public security agencies.

Executives from state-owned corporations and banks also took part, as did cultural administrators, artists, scholars and researchers. Local Party officials and grassroots representatives joined through virtual connections nationwide.During the session, senior Party and Government officials presented the core objectives and implementation strategies of Resolution No.79-NQ/TW on developing the state-run economic sector and Resolution No.80-NQ/TW on advancing Vietnamese culture.

The Government’s action programme outlining steps to carry out both resolutions was also introduced.The conference underscored the leadership’s commitment to reinforcing the role of state enterprises in the national economy while fostering cultural values as a foundation for sustainable development.
