Pretoria, March 23, 2026:A dignified flag hoisting ceremony was held at the High Commission of Pakistan in Pretoria to commemorate Pakistan Day.High Commissioner H.E. Malik Muhammad Farooq hoisted the national flag to the tune of the National Anthem.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Pakistani diaspora, friends of Pakistan in South Africa, and officials of the High Commission.The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan.
The messages highlighted the sacrifices of national heroes, emphasized unity and resilience, and reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.In his address, the High Commissioner paid tribute to the founding fathers and acknowledged the resilience of the nation.
He also appreciated the contributions of the Pakistani community in South Africa and encouraged them to continue playing a positive role while abiding by local laws.The ceremony concluded with prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
