Armed Forces Reaffirm Commitment to National Security on Pakistan Day Anniversary

The Armed Forces on Sunday extended heartfelt congratulations to the nation on the 86th anniversary of Pakistan Day, reaffirming their commitment to national security, democratic values and the country’s continued progress.In their messages marking the occasion, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu paid tribute to the historic significance of March 23, 1940.They described the day as a defining moment in the subcontinent’s history, when a clear vision for an independent homeland was articulated, ultimately leading to the creation of Pakistan.“Rooted in faith, guided by hope, and strengthened by resilience, this day reflects the unwavering resolve of the people of Pakistan,” the statement said, adding that the country continues to move forward under democratic principles and the enduring values of Islam.

The military leadership emphasised that Pakistan remains committed to strengthening democratic institutions, ensuring national security and safeguarding the welfare of its citizens.At a time when the country continues to face the challenges of terrorism and extremism, the armed forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies and with the support of the public, remain determined to eliminate all threats to national security, they saidReaffirming their resolve, the services chiefs stated that the armed forces would continue to defend the country’s borders, protect its sovereignty and maintain internal stability against all forms of aggression.

They added that Pakistan stands as a responsible member of the international community, advocating peace, stability and cooperation, while moving forward with resilience and a commitment to long-term prosperity.
