ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar has underscored the vital role of sports in shaping a healthy, united, and progressive society, urging greater investment in football and youth development across Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan.He expressed these views while attending the live screening of the international football final as the chief guest at Best Western Premier Hotel Islamabad.
The event was organized by Muhammad Rauf Raja, Focal Person to the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme on Tourism & Hospitality, in collaboration with Best Western Premier Hotel Islamabad.The gathering brought together diplomats, business leaders, sports personalities, and youth representatives. Among those present were Muhammad Rauf Raja, General Manager of Best Western Premier Hotel Rashid Rauf Banday, FPCCI Vice President Tariq Jadoon, a delegation from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industries, former international footballer Mubashir Sanjrani, the Ambassador of Palestine, diplomats from various embassies, members of the business community, and young leaders.Addressing the audience, Syedaal Khan Nasar described sports as a powerful force for promoting national unity, discipline, healthy living, and positive youth engagement. He said Pakistan’s young people possess remarkable sporting talent that can flourish with improved facilities, professional coaching, and equal opportunities.Highlighting Balochistan’s rich football tradition, the Deputy Chairman Senate said the province has produced some of Pakistan’s finest footballers despite limited resources. He emphasized that strategic investment in sports infrastructure, football academies, and grassroots competitions could transform Balochistan into a leading centre for football development in the country.He noted that promoting sports not only helps produce future champions but also steers young people towards constructive activities, contributing to national progress.
He also praised the organizers for bringing together diplomats, the business community, and youth through football, saying such initiatives strengthen people-to-people ties and promote goodwill.Reaffirming Parliament’s commitment to youth empowerment, Syedaal Khan Nasar said support for sports, education, and community engagement would remain a national priority. He concluded by appreciating the organizers and expressing hope that similar events would continue to inspire young Pakistanis and help build a vibrant sporting culture nationwide.
