DG PSB Yawar Hussain Reviews Sports Facilities, Vows International Standards for Athletes

Islamabad (IN) Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), Yawar Hussain, conducted a comprehensive visit to various sports and administrative facilities at the PSB Sports Complex on Saturday to assess their condition, review ongoing activities, and evaluate operational performance.During the visit, the newly-appointed DG toured key sections of the complex, including sports venues, athlete training centers, residential facilities, administrative offices, and support services. Officials briefed him in detail on existing infrastructure, maintenance requirements, operational challenges, and day-to-day management issues.

Yawar Hussain engaged with staff and departmental heads, seeking in-depth information on the utilization of sports facilities, athlete support systems, and ongoing development and renovation projects. He emphasized the need to maintain international standards across all sports venues to better facilitate athletes and promote high-performance sports in the country.Officials informed the DG about training arrangements for national athletes, upkeep of infrastructure, and measures being taken to enhance services for sports federations.

Reaffirming the Board’s commitment, Yawar Hussain stressed the importance of creating a conducive environment for athletes and ensuring optimal use of sports infrastructure for nationwide sports development. He highlighted that improving facility standards and service quality would remain a top priority to help athletes achieve excellence at both national and international levels.The visit was part of the DG’s efforts to gain first-hand insight into PSB operations following his recent appointment. Officials assured full cooperation in implementing reforms aimed at boosting the performance and efficiency of the Pakistan Sports Board.
