Pakistan Hindu Council Patron-in-Chief recognized at Dhanteras Gala in Canada for promoting interfaith harmony, social justice, and humanitarian values worldwide
Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, senior parliamentarian and Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council, has been awarded the prestigious Global Hindu Award 2026 at the grand Dhanteras Gala 2026 held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.Dr. Vankwani, the only Pakistani recipient of the award, was honored for his remarkable contributions to the promotion of minority rights, interfaith harmony, social welfare, and humanitarian service at national and international levels.The ceremony brought together prominent political leaders, diplomats, community representatives, business personalities, and distinguished guests from Canada and around the world to celebrate Hindu heritage, cultural values, and community achievements.
Acknowledging the contributions of the Hindu community to Canada’s social, cultural, and economic progress, Canadian leaders praised the community’s positive role in strengthening the country’s diverse society.Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Dr. Vankwani dedicated the award to the Hindu community of Pakistan and all those who have supported his mission of serving humanity. He said the honor represented not only a personal achievement but also recognition of the peaceful values, resilience, and positive contributions of the Hindu community of Pakistan.He reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving humanity in line with the timeless Hindu principles of Seva (selfless service), Karma (good actions), and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family).Dr. Vankwani highlighted Pakistan’s rich Hindu heritage and spiritual significance, inviting global communities to visit historic religious sites including Hinglaj Mata Mandir, Katas Raj Temples, Teri Temple, and Prahlad Mandir in Multan to experience the country’s centuries-old cultural and religious diversity.He also highlighted humanitarian initiatives of the Pakistan Hindu Council, including the development of Prem Nagar, a 150-acre model welfare village in Islamkot, Tharparkar, aimed at supporting social welfare and community development.
Dr. Vankwani said the Global Hindu Award 2026 further strengthened his resolve to continue working for minority rights, interfaith peace, social justice, and humanitarian welfare in Pakistan and across the world.He also congratulated the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce for organizing the successful gala and recognizing individuals making exceptional contributions to public service, philanthropy, and community leadership.
