Housing Minister Orders Immediate Action Over Delays in Green Enclave-I, Lifestyle Residency Projects

Islamabad, August 19, 2026: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada has expressed serious concern over the prolonged delays in the Green Enclave-I and Lifestyle Residency projects, directing the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) to take immediate and effective measures for their timely completion.Chairing the 50th Executive Board Meeting of FGEHA, the Federal Minister questioned the Authority over the lack of progress and sought detailed explanations for the inordinate delays in both projects.The Minister noted that he had repeatedly been required to respond before Parliamentary and Senate committees and other oversight forums regarding the status of the projects. He expressed concern that despite nearly three years having passed, the projects had yet to make the desired progress.

Taking note of media reports regarding protests by Green Enclave-I allottees and their approach to the Federal Ombudsman, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada emphasized that the concerns of the allottees could not be ignored. He directed FGEHA to ensure transparency, accountability and efficiency and take all possible measures to resolve the issues and complete the projects.

The Minister further directed that all pending inquiry reports be submitted within the stipulated timelines and called for immediate action on their findings. He observed that unnecessary delays in inquiries were increasing uncertainty among senior bureaucrats, officers and lower-grade employees who had invested their hard-earned money in the hope of securing homes.He directed the FGEHA Board to take appropriate action in accordance with the findings and recommendations of the inquiry reports, ensuring that the process remained fair, transparent, justified and timely.During the meeting, the FGEHA Executive Board also considered and approved the Authority’s annual budget for the financial year 2026–27.
