ISLAMABAD (Special Reporter): Chairman of Rawal General & Dental Hospital and Rawal Foundation and head of the Pakistan Awami Quwwat Party, Khaqan Waheed Khawaja, has said that in an era when religious, social and cultural differences are increasingly being exploited to create hatred and division around the world, the holding of a Rehmat-ul-lil-Alameen Conference for Interfaith Harmony is a positive, inspiring and highly commendable initiative.He expressed these views while addressing a Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference held at the auditorium of Rawal Dental Hospital. The conference was presided over by Khaqan Waheed Khawaja.
The conference was attended by prominent religious scholars and leaders from different schools of thought, including Dr. Mufti Mir Ishtiaq Ahmed, Advocate; Syed Anjum Shah Bukhari; Sahibzada Syed Attaullah Shah Bukhari; Agha Nair Jafri; Hafiz Amjad Islam; Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman Madani; and Maulana Iftikhar Khokhar.Representatives of Pakistan’s non-Muslim communities also participated enthusiastically in the event. Sardar Anoop Singh represented the Sikh community, Pandit Rakesh Chand represented the Hindu community, while Jibran Gul Masih represented the Christian community. Their participation turned the gathering into a meaningful and inspiring example of interfaith harmony.
The speakers said that the presence of representatives from different religions on a single platform demonstrated that Pakistan’s real strength lies in mutual respect, love, tolerance and cooperation among its people.Addressing the conference, religious scholars and community leaders emphasized the need to promote peace, tolerance and religious harmony in society. They stressed that differences in faith should never become a cause of hatred or division and that all communities must work together for a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.Dr. Mufti Mir Ishtiaq Ahmed, Advocate, delivered a particularly powerful and thought-provoking address on interfaith harmony. He emphasized that a strong and developed society cannot be built through economic progress alone; rather, it requires mutual respect, justice, tolerance and freedom of religion.Sahibzada Syed Attaullah Shah Bukhari also delivered an impressive address on the theme of the Rehmat-ul-lil-Alameen Conference for Interfaith Harmony.
He highlighted the exemplary character and noble conduct of Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, explaining how his life provides a timeless message of compassion, forgiveness, kindness and respect for humanity.Speaking on behalf of the Sikh community, Sardar Anoop Singh expressed his views in a highly eloquent manner. Referring to Sikh religious teachings and the teachings of Guru Nanak, he said that the blessed personality of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ conveys a universal message of mercy, love and peace for all humanity. His remarks reinforced the central message of the conference that the true purpose of religion is to bring people together rather than divide them.Representing the Hindu community, Pandit Rakesh Chand also spoke warmly about the universal message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the importance of peaceful coexistence among followers of different faiths. He stressed that respect for all religions and communities is essential for building a harmonious society.
The participation of religious scholars as well as Sikh, Hindu and Christian representatives gave the conference a distinctive character and conveyed a strong message of unity and brotherhood.The speakers called upon society to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by promoting compassion, justice, tolerance and respect for every human being, regardless of religion or background.The conference concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting interfaith harmony, peace, tolerance and mutual respect, while emphasizing that Pakistan can progress only when all its communities stand together with a spirit of unity and brotherhood.
