CHOLPON-ATA, Kyrgyzstan, July 31 – Kazakhstan reaffirmed its commitment to deeper regional integration as the leaders of Central Asia and Azerbaijan signed the Cholpon-Ata Declaration at the conclusion of an informal Consultative Meeting held in the Kyrgyz resort city of Cholpon-Ata.The declaration was adopted by the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, reflecting their shared determination to expand cooperation and strengthen strategic partnerships across the region.
Addressing the summit, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the remarkable progress made by Central Asia, describing the current period as the most successful in the region’s modern history. He emphasized that Kazakhstan remains firmly committed to enhancing strategic cooperation, promoting regional stability, and advancing mutually beneficial partnerships with neighboring countries and Azerbaijan.
The leaders held extensive discussions on key areas of cooperation, including trade and economic integration, transport and logistics connectivity, investment, and sustainable regional development. They underscored the importance of coordinated efforts to unlock the region’s economic potential and improve cross-border connectivity.The signing of the Cholpon-Ata Declaration marks another significant step toward strengthening political dialogue and economic collaboration between the Central Asian states and Azerbaijan, reinforcing their shared vision of a more connected, prosperous and resilient region.
