Kazakhstan–Pakistan Boxing Cooperation Gains Momentum as High-Level Training Camp and Masterclasses Conclude in Islamabad

Islamabad:Building on agreements reached during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Islamabad in February 2026, and under the 2026 sports cooperation roadmap and MoU between the boxing federations of both countries, a high-level delegation of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation visited Islamabad from June 16 to 20, 2026.During the visit, Kazakh boxing experts Damir Bodanbekov and Nurzhan Kundibayev conducted comprehensive training seminars and masterclasses at the Kazakhstan–Pakistan Sports Center “Dostyk” in Islamabad for athletes and coaching staff of the Pakistan Boxing Federation.

The sessions focused on improving athletes’ technical skills, tactical awareness, and physical conditioning, while also introducing modern training methodologies aimed at strengthening the professional capacity of local coaches through knowledge exchange.In a press briefing, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in sports. He noted that joint initiatives are helping strengthen friendly relations between the two countries and enhancing institutional linkages in the sports sector.Pakistan Boxing Federation President I. Teng described the program as the first major implementation step under the bilateral MoU, expressing strong interest in further expanding collaboration with Kazakh counterparts.

Renowned British-Pakistani professional boxer Amir Khan also arrived in Islamabad to participate in the training activities. He met with coaches from both countries and conducted a special masterclass for boxing enthusiasts.At the closing ceremony, Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, A. Muhyuddin, thanked the Kazakh delegation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening sports diplomacy and expanding cooperation in boxing and other disciplines.The event also featured the presentation of commemorative gifts by RDX Company, which provided sports equipment for the “Dostyk” Sports Center.The Embassy of Kazakhstan expressed its gratitude to Kazakhstan Boxing Federation President Shakh Murat Matalip for his personal support in facilitating the visit and ensuring the successful execution of the joint initiative.
